Grande-Rock review of "Fate is Your Muse" Devil to Pay Fate is Your Muse Ripple Music 2013 This Indianapolis based heavy rock act needs no extensive presentation for they all know who DtP are and what they are doing. “Fate is Your Muse” is the band’s fourth full-length release in a more than a 10-year career since 2002 when they started. In their own words: “it’s all about the riffs, man”… and in a way they do make this thing reality. Heavy rock music with sludge, doom, southern, blues & rock & roll passages along with the apt amount of heaviness & dirtiness. The “muddy” & full production adds the final touches to the final outcome. No second thoughts here as things are very simple. There are no hidden surprises on “Fate is Your Muse”. If you’re into this kind of music you will fully revel in this release. It’s well-played, with a heavy, groove & rockin’ background. I do feel that this album is more complete than the band’s previous works but the old fans of DtP will have a better saying on this. |
