Live review on Stonerrock.com by db2

After downloading the MP3 of Tractor fuckin Trailer from their site, I knew I had to see this band live. Living in a small town, I ended up driving 85 miles to ABQ to catch this show--on a Monday night no less! In some ways, when Steve Janiak (vocals/guitar) plays, it's like you've been transported back to a time when Iommi could write a killer riff. And in other ways, you're seeing the future of "stoner/riff/fuzz" rock. Well put together songs, great, sarcastic lyrics, and tempo changes that Iommi would say "damn, I wish I thought of that".
These guys rock, plain and simple. Steve's vocals adapt to the songs very well...being sneaky when they need to be with a well-placed growl.

I know for sure they played tractor, dinosaur steps, mouthful of spite but since I didn't have their CD prior to the show, I couldn't say for sure which others they played. They are down to a 3 piece right now...apparantly their rhythm guitarist quit a day or so before the tour. The tour itself has been somewhat of a Spinal Tap - ish experience for the band with van problems that have caused them to miss several West Coast dates.
At their merch booth, they have their CD for $10, a DVD of their vid for tractor fuckin trailer for $5 and a KILLER live CD (with covers of The Small Hours, She and Green Machine!) recorded in MAine and Indiana for $5. They also have a 7" on blood red wax for $5. So, of course I had to get one of each! Seriously, see this band, they rock in a big fat fucking way!
