Rocksound magazine (May 04) review of "thirty pieces" 'Thirty Pieces Of Silver' is the debut album from Indianapolis stoners Devil To Pay and a fine album it is too. Although it's nothing original, the seeds have been sown for a decent crack at the market. 'The Lamb' will have you shaking your head like Ozzy used to before his bike fell on top of him. It fairly chugs along with it's tractor-slow groove and is as thick as a supermodel on Mastermind. 'Dinosaur Steps' just about says it all about the heavy, doom-laden riffs on off. It's quite refreshing to hear a new band sound so good, and more power to their elbow - and their bong - for providing a perfect soundtrack to get blasted to. They say they'll be touring extensively, let's hope that includes the UK. It'll certainly be worth your 'Thirty Pieces Of Silver.' Robert Adams |
